Bangkok Tree House,
Info : Bangkok Tree House
The Bangkok Tree House can quite confidently claim to be one of Thailand’s most unique and environmentally friendly hotels.
Situated on the banks of the city’s Chao Phraya River, the Bangkok Tree House offers modern accommodation in a number of stilted ‘nests’. Each nest has three floors with bathrooms and bedrooms separated by steep stairs. The huge glass windows offer plenty of light and pretty spectacular views. Nests also have rooftop areas with outdoor seating for reading and relaxing. Family nests have two bedrooms and an additional lounge area and are ideal for families or couples traveling together.
The hotel offer free bikes to explore the surrounding ‘green lung’ of Bangkok. Picnics can be organised, as can trips to local markets. All of Bangkok’s main touristic sites are also accessible from the hotel.
Food is another focus of the hotel, with organic produce served up fresh every day in the main restaurant. Menus are seasonal and feature a range of delicious Thai cuisine mixed with some international favourites.
Access to the Bangkok Tree House is by boat from the nearest Skytrain station of Bang Na. Local river boats stop close to the hotel or you can charter your own boat from the pier inexpensively. Taxis can also access the hotel by road.
The Bangkok Tree House is something of an acquired choice and certainly not for everyone. With floating walkways, balconies, stairs and rooftops, the hotel is certainly not suitable for those with mobility issues, small children or vertigo. However, if you are looking for something truly unique with passionate design and strong environmental commitments then the Bangkok Tree House could be just the place for you. A completely different and exciting way of seeing and experiencing Bangkok.

Really enjoyed the food tour. It took us to a part of Bangkok that we would never have visited. We visited 5 restaurants, some of which you would probably dismiss out of hand and carry on walking past from their appearance. They were also very clued up on local knowledge so it was a much a cultural tour as food tour.
