Info : Cape Sienna
Cape Siena is a modern 146 room hotel built into the rocky shores of southern Kamala beach. Ingeniously designed, the resort hugs the contours of the bay and offers fantastic sea views from all rooms and communal areas.
Rooms are divided into four categories Sew View Studio, Sea View Jacuzzi Deluxe Rooms, Sea View Jacuzzi Suites and Sea View Penthouses. All rooms have private balconies and similar amenities (flat screen tv, satellite, dvd player & music system), with the main difference being the size.
A modern design aesthetic has been applied throughout, with ceiling to floor glass panels maximising the view at every point. The main 30 metre marble infinity pool is bordered by the club and bar which serves great food and drink in a highly relaxed setting. Upstairs is the Plum fine dining restaurant and Sky Bar, which have the best view in the house. Other facilities include a spa, gym and snooker room.
Kamala beach is a 5 minute stroll from the hotel but the resorts tuk-tuks are always on hand to ferry you to and from the hotels beach club.
Cape Siena offers high quality accommodation and makes great use of the fabulous views its location affords.
Deluxe - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
Really enjoyed the food tour. It took us to a part of Bangkok that we would never have visited. We visited 5 restaurants, some of which you would probably dismiss out of hand and carry on walking past from their appearance. They were also very clued up on local knowledge so it was a much a cultural tour as food tour.
