On the beautiful Phuket coastline lies Keemala, a unique forest resort with an unusual eco-design. It suits families and couples looking for a luxurious escape with a difference.
Set back from the beach, the views from the resort are spectacular – generally, the higher you stay, the better the view. With various wellness activities on offer, from yoga to pilates, to tai chi, to running trails, to cooking experiences, you can relax however you like. Keemala also boasts a large central pool complete with a bar serving delicious drinks with a variety of cocktails and wines.
There are four categories of villas, all of which include a private pool. The Clay Pool Villas are set lower down in the forest and offer beautiful views over the surrounding nature. The Tented Pool Villas, Tree Pool Houses and Bird's Nest Pool Villas are higher up in the canopy. Some villas give you a better view of the Andaman Sea and bay beyond, while others provide views of the mountains – talk to one of our specialists for particular recommendations.
The 16 Clay Pool Cottages have either one or two bedrooms and offer a private infinity plunge pool. With traditional thatched roofs and tasteful modern wooden furnishings, they are a very comfortable entry-level option.
The larger Tent Pool Villas are canvas-covered and include an outside shower and bath. There are partial views of the ocean beyond and a private pool making for an excellent option for couples. The seven Tree Pool Houses offer accomodation over two floors and are particularly spacious. The lounge level can be converted into an extra bedroom with a double or twin bed, making them a perfect choice for families. Finally, the Bird's Nest Pool Villas, of which there are 8, is the most private and intimate on offer. The views are grand: either over the sea, mountains and or forest.
This resort really suits those looking for a unique experience in Phuket with an emphasis on well-being and relaxation.
Deluxe - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
