Paradise Koh Yao,
Ko Yao Island
Thailand, West Coast and Islands
Info : Paradise Koh Yao
Paradise Koh Yao is a gem on the beautiful island of Koh Yao, between Phuket and Krabi. The resort is accessible only by boat and sits on a glorious beach on the northern tip of the island.
The hotel has been cleverly built into the hillside land. Large enough to be discreet and small enough to feel intimate at the same time the resorts rooms and suites are spacious, comfortable and airy. The large ceiling to floor windows offer great views of the surrounding coastline and jungle. Amenities are first rate too, with dvd players and satellite tv in the rooms, spacious bathrooms and balconies with lounge furniture. The overall design is contemporary eco. The blend of modern aesthetics and sustainable aspects allows the property to blend well into its exotic surroundings.
For a resort in such a remote location the facilities are impressive; good internet access, a great swimming pool and many games and excursions. There are two restaurants with romantically lit dining areas. One serves Thai and Asian cuisine, the other Mediterranean and Italian. The resort has a beautiful private beach with swaying palm trees, flanked by rocky, jungle clad hills. Swimming is great when the tide is high but not possible during low tide. The resort gets around this issue by offering free daily excursions to nearby deserted islands where you can swim all day. Information about the tide times is displayed at the hotel.
Excursions offered include: climbing, boat trips, mountain bikes snorkeling and canoes. The truly adventurous could rent motorbikes to further explore this stunning and undeveloped island. The hotel also offers island trips by four wheel drive jeeps.
The Paradise Koh Yao offers first rate, luxurious accommodation at great rates - ideal for anyone wanting to really get away from it all, from families to honeymooners. If a quiet, small and idyllic beach hotel is what you are looking for then consider this resort.
Deluxe - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.

Really enjoyed the food tour. It took us to a part of Bangkok that we would never have visited. We visited 5 restaurants, some of which you would probably dismiss out of hand and carry on walking past from their appearance. They were also very clued up on local knowledge so it was a much a cultural tour as food tour.
