Santhiya Koh Phangan occupies a fantastic location on the tropical island of Koh Phangan, a 30-minute boat ride away from Koh Samui. The resort has been built into the side of a hill extending down to the bay. Luxury rooms have an authentic Thai feel with a teakwood design, wood carvings and local fabrics. Several of the rooms have private pools with panoramic views out across the bay. As to be expected in a resort of this standard, there is a brilliant swimming pool, a superb spa and two excellent restaurants. One restaurant offers Thai and international food with panoramic views, while the other offers casual dining and a bar on the beach.
What we love about this resort is how you get the feeling of being on a desert island but without being cut off: there are a couple of other resorts nearby and a small local village so you can enjoy strolls around the local area and a decent range of places to eat.
This is a perfect resort for couples or families who like to relax in pleasant surroundings or explore the island and marine park in more depth.

Deluxe - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
