Boduberu drumming lesson, North Male Atoll
The Maldives, Central Islands

Info : Boduberu drumming lesson

Boduberu or "Big Drum", is an old traditional form of music in The Maldives, brought over by sailors in the 11th Century. The songs themselves are like ballards, telling songs about heroes, love or war. The beat often starts slow but speeds up over time. Heavily influenced by African culture, Boduberu is often accompanied with singing and dancing in an informal manner – there's no right or wrong way to move. Learn from local experts and revel in the music.

Customer Feedback
Thanks for all your help - the honeymoon was fantastic! All the hotels gave us room upgrades for our honeymoon, which was much appreciated (in fact we spent the whole of our time in the Maldives in a water villa!).
