Cocoa Island, South Male Atoll The Maldives, Central Islands
The embodiment of understated luxury, Cocoa Island by COMO is a boutique-style resort on an idyllic atoll. It’s perfect for couples and families wanting to combine total relaxation with a variety of fun, active experiences.
Composed of 33 rooms (all overwater); sweeping wood walkways link traditional Dhoni boat style suites in an elegant arc. The accomodation is a lovely blend of Maldivian style architecture and modern design with blue and white hues decorating interiors. Each room has a private terrace so you can easily slip into the warm turquoise water.
There is one main restaurant that serves a mixture of Indian and Mediterranean cuisine with an emphasis on local produce. A wellness spa providing top notch treatments is sure to relax you during your stay and there are various yoga and exercise classes to provide a holistic experience.
Whilst there’s no swimming pool in the resort, let’s be honest, you’re in The Maldives so you don’t really need one. There is however a range of handcrafted experiences to choose from. Whether it's swimming with whale sharks, watching the sun set on a private cruise, or scudding across the azure waters in a sailing boat, you'll find there's more than one way to relax here!
All in all, Cocoa Island by COMO is an incredibly tasteful, luxurious and relaxing place to stay for those wanting a small to medium-sized island with plenty of experiences that make the most of the wonderful location.
Luxury - Luxury hotels would have a superb level of service, very comfortable and usually spacious bedrooms, excellent food, great design and character. For us, when we visited, these places all had the 'wow factor'. A luxury hotel should satisfy the criteria of the most discerning clients.
Sri Lanka was an experience and journey whilst the Maldives was luxury and heaven. Experience Travel Group were excellent - everything went to plan and was simple.
