On lovely Mudhdhoo Island in Baa Atoll, Dusit Thani is colourful and welcoming. Arrive by seaplane from the international airport in Male and feel a great sense of calm and the warmth of legendary Thai hospitality as soon as you land. Bring the kids, too: the facilities and activities are great for adults and little ones alike. Best of all, the Thai restaurant on-site is world-class.
Choose from villas and residences on the beach or over the water - the beach villas come with or without private plunge pools, and all villas are incredibly generous in size and beautifully furnished with outdoor rain showers and private terraces. The sizeable Ocean Villas (all with pool) are located in a separate part of the resort, accessible by a wooden walkway. For larger groups, there are two-bedroom overwater ocean pavilions, family beach villas and beach residences - offer you and your travel companions plenty of beautiful spaces for relaxing, wonderful facilities and opulent traditional Thai furnishings.
Dining at Dusit Thani is a highlight for many visitors: the Thai restaurant, in particular, Benjarong, gets rave reviews. Aside from fantastic Thai food, there is also seafood and grill, eastern and western delicacies (both buffet and a la carte) and light snacks at the two bars. “Borderless Dining” also offers guests the opportunity to eat wherever they want, with bespoke meals created by on-site chefs. Talk to Experience Travel about adding a meal plan to your booking at Dusit Thani.
The facilities and activities are top-rate: there are beautiful coral caves, a massive infinity pool, a sublime treehouse spa and a wonderful Kids Club. Some international visitors might prefer a more “international” atmosphere. But thanks to its authentic Thai-inspired atmosphere and great hospitality, Dusit Thani has gained a reputation as a warm, friendly, well-maintained and very beautiful place to relax, either as a couple, in a group, or with the whole family.
Luxury - Luxury hotels would have a superb level of service, very comfortable and usually spacious bedrooms, excellent food, great design and character. For us, when we visited, these places all had the 'wow factor'. A luxury hotel should satisfy the criteria of the most discerning clients.
