Milaidhoo Island has a lush landscape, a fantastic lagoon and an excellent house reef. It’s rare to find a small island in the Maldives that has all three qualities.
Style-wise it’s modern and high quality yet it has a relaxed, homely feel. Located in the Baa Atoll, Milaidhoo is reached by seaplane, and so the experience begins the minute you take off and fly over the turquoise blue sea, bound for the resort’s jetty.
Start your morning with a class in the overwater yoga pavilion or a relaxing treatment in the Serenity Spa. From the dive centre, you’ll be able to make the most of the house reef and lagoon. In the evenings, sip sunset cocktails and enjoy a delicious meal at one of the resort’s three restaurants. Milaidhoo has one of the first-ever fine-dining Maldivian restaurants, where you can experience local cuisine crafted from the chef’s mother’s recipes.
The property has one ocean residence, two beach residences and 47 villas, all with their private pools. The villas have been built using light wood and cool colours that complement the surrounding nature, with high ceilings and large windows to make the most of the view, whether that is the open ocean from your overwater villa or a stretch of pristine white sand in front of your beach villa.
Staying here feels like inhabiting your own beautiful beach house in the Maldives. Milaidhoo has all the perks of a luxury resort without feeling obviously like a hotel. It’s adults-only so you can enjoy a peaceful and romantic setting.
Luxury - Luxury hotels would have a superb level of service, very comfortable and usually spacious bedrooms, excellent food, great design and character. For us, when we visited, these places all had the 'wow factor'. A luxury hotel should satisfy the criteria of the most discerning clients.
