Mango Cruises take you closer to the soul of the Mekong region and provide a more hands-on experience than many other tours. You travel along rural tributaries aboard a small traditional Sampan boat and stop along the way to explore the tropical scenery and local villages. While on land you’ll have the chance to cycle along the rural roads learning about local trades like coconut pressing and rice noodle processing while meeting villagers such as Mrs Huong and her family who live on fishing and the harvest from the fruit orchards.
The particularly unique element of this tour is the overnight accommodation which is on land in a local homestay where you can catch fish and pick vegetables before enjoying a cooking demonstration before a delicious dinner.
On this tour, you’ll experience the contrast between the busy industrial waterways of the Mekong and the quiet rural life along the canals and gain an understanding of the significance of the mighty river.
This tour is ideal for anyone who wants to experience the region first hand. We think that it would be especially suited to families as there is plenty to keep everyone interested and inspired.
Superior - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, in terms of character, guest experience or facilities too.
