Vietnam, Hanoi and The North
Info : Movenpick Hotel
Experience Travel have handpicked the Movenpick Hanoi as a great value 4 star option from which to explore the captial city.
The Movenpick Hanoi is an excellent hotel with the service and attention to detail usually only found in small properties. Located in the heart of Hanoi's business district the hotel is within walking distance of Hoan Kiem Lake & the bustling old quarter.
Formerly the Guoman Hotel, the property was completely renovated and refurbished in 2009 and has been receiving rave reviews since. Indeed, the ultra modern style and design of The Movenpick Hanoi have given the property a completely new and lively identity.
Movenpick Hanoi has all the facilities you would expect from a well reputed chain. There are a total of 154 rooms and suites, all with modern amenities and comforts, split into different categories depending on size and view. There's no swimming pool (which is quite normal for hotels in Hanoi), but a spa and massage centre offer treatments to help you unwind after a busy day sightseeing.
Overall the Movenpick Hanoi should appeal to anyone looking to stay in good quality, modern accommodation without blowing the budget. Its also in a great location for anyone arriving or departing from Hanoi by train.
Superior - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, in terms of character, guest experience or facilities too.
We feel that we've seen Vietnam and Cambodia in some depth. The real parts, not just the tourist areas. The holiday has provided us with great insight into both countries. David was right when he said it would be better to have our own Guide and driver. It really did make a big difference to the holiday overall!
