Vedana Lagoon, Hue
Vietnam, Central Coast and Highlands

Info : Vedana Lagoon

The Vedana Lagoon is a uniquely placed resort, about 30 kilometres south of Hue in central Vietnam. It sits on the banks of the a huge expanse of brackish saltwater -one of the largest lagoons in Southeast Asia - surrounded by stunning misty mountain and jungle scenery.

10 of the 30 villas sit on pillars directly over the lagoon water itself, while  the other 20 are nestled further up in the hillside and trees. An abundance of space is a key feature of all room types. Some villas come with private pools, others have outdoor kitchenettes as well as showers, and some of the over water villas have glass floors through which to spot fish swimming underneath you! For families there are spacious one and two bedroom family bungalows: our pick would be the two bedroom over water villa that comes with its own good-sized pool overlooking the lake. Large beds and a beautiful use of jackfruit tree wood and marble characterise all room types.

The water of the lagoon is not suitable for swimming so Vedana Lagoon has a fantastic large swimming pool (and a children's pool) with interesting water features and panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. The hotel has a range of facilities including a spa, jacuzzi and steam bath, a sports club, tennis courts and a ping pong table. Tai Chi and yoga is free of charge, and the hotel offers a tour of the lagoon in a fisherman's boat free of charge as well.

Vedana Lagoon offers good quality accommodation in a stunningly beautiful rural location where you really feel the rest of the world is a million miles away. The well-appointed villas are a great place for families, couples and honeymooners alike to unwind for a few nights and admire the scenery as part of a wider tour of central Vietnam.

Luxury - Luxury hotels would have a superb level of service, very comfortable and usually spacious bedrooms, excellent food, great design and character. For us, when we visited, these places all had the 'wow factor'. A luxury hotel should satisfy the criteria of the most discerning clients.

Customer Feedback
We spent a lot of time with the local people on our tours and learnt so much about the country. We didn't feel like we were intruding and were advised how best to deal with each situation so as to fit in with local custom.
