The swimming pool - not commonly found in Bhutanese hotels - is something of a centrepiece here. As this is the warmest valley, the pool is a wonderful treat in the warmer months. The wooden cube-like lounge area juts out over the pool and, with its expansive glass windows, it makes for a lovely spot in which to relax and take in your surroundings. As for other facilities, the Spa and Wellness Centre provides lovely therapeutic treatments, meditation and yoga and a gym. Enjoy delicious meals making the most of fresh local produce at the Ari Restaurant.

Luxury - Luxury hotels would have a superb level of service, very comfortable and usually spacious bedrooms, excellent food, great design and character. For us, when we visited, these places all had the 'wow factor'. A luxury hotel should satisfy the criteria of the most discerning clients.
