A luxurious retreat perched high in Punakha, commanding breathtaking views of the valley below and cascading rice terraces. All of the classic elements of a Six Senses property can be found her: top quality service, facilities and spacious rooms, all in an incredible location.
The swimming pool - not commonly found in Bhutanese hotels - is something of a centrepiece here. As this is the warmest valley, the pool is a wonderful treat in the warmer months. The wooden cube-like lounge area juts out over the pool and, with its expansive glass windows, it makes for a lovely spot in which to relax and take in your surroundings. As for other facilities, the Spa and Wellness Centre provides lovely therapeutic treatments, meditation and yoga and a gym. Enjoy delicious meals making the most of fresh local produce at the Ari Restaurant.
16 lodge suites and 3 private pool villas make up the accommodation. All are incredibly spacious with wooden interiors and furnishings and a minimal design that showcases the beauty of your natural surroundings. Wake up to astounding views from your bed and relax out on your balcony as you gaze out on the lush valley below.
For total luxury in Punakha Six Senses is our first choice, with top-notch facilities and rooms to make a stay here truly memorable.
Luxury - Luxury hotels would have a superb level of service, very comfortable and usually spacious bedrooms, excellent food, great design and character. For us, when we visited, these places all had the 'wow factor'. A luxury hotel should satisfy the criteria of the most discerning clients.
