Travel Consultant

Job Purpose:

Help customers have a genuine travel experience as part of their holidays in South and Southeast Asia.

Main Roles & Responsibilities:

Working within an experienced Travel Team to provide top-class service that builds upon clients’ understanding of their needs.

Use the framework of the ETG sales process to create an adventure, communicate the value, build excitement, and provide reflection. You will be expected to meet top-level (challenging) booking targets while receiving excellent customer satisfaction scores & developing long-term relationships that ensure clients return for future holidays and generate referrals.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Work with the rest of the Travel Team to improve the service provided.
  • Help the Product Team to improve the holiday ‘product’ provided by ETG.
  • Support the marketing teams to produce content.
  • Build relationships with our Travel Agent partners.
  • Attend in person customer facing events, often out of hours
  • Attend in person supplier events, often out of hour

Position Requirements:

  • A passion for, and strong knowledge of, ETG destination(s)
  • Relevant travel industry sales experience, ideally with 2-3 years of selling holidays to South and/or Southeast Asia
  • A desire to focus on sales within your medium-term career progression.
  • Natural communication skills, with an ability to build relationships.
  • Excellent telephone communication skills.
  • A customer-focused approach.
  • A positive and energetic outlook, with a willingness to put yourself out of your comfort zone.
  • Good organisation skills
  • Good general literacy.
  • A desire to learn and be proactive in doing so.
  • A passion for providing something extraordinary.

Training That Will Be Given:

The job will start with a month’s intensive training, focusing on the ETG sales process and helping ETG’s customers push their comfort zones and have a holiday adventure.

Salary & Contract Information:

The exact salary will depend on the level of experience but will fall within the below range:
£30-35k + Quarterly Individual Sales Bonus + Monthly Team Bonus + Annual Profit Share Bonus

  • One two-week familiarisation trip per year
  • Annual personal flight allowance to one of our destinations
  • 23 days holiday each full calendar year, in addition to the usual statutory holidays.
  • A day off for your birthday
  • Pension Contribution of 3%
  • Employee Assistance platform with access to free GP and counselling services, an optional healthcare plan, and discounted shopping
  • Regular team lunches and socials

Work Hours:

9-5.30 Monday to Friday, with the following stipulations:
– Work one Saturday in eight with a weekday off in lieu

Sales Support

Job Purpose:

Help customers have a genuine travel experience as part of their holidays in South and Southeast Asia.

 

Main Roles & Responsibilities:

Support an experienced Travel Team in providing top-class bespoke packages that make travel feel personal and spontaneous rather than over planned. 

  • Responding to and qualifying holiday enquiries and incoming phone calls 
  • Working with the MD on US agent sales 
  • Building relationships with new and existing Travel Agent partners 
  • Booking admin support 

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Help the Product Team to improve the holiday ‘product’ provided by ETG.  
  • Support the marketing team so they can create highly engaging content. 
  • Attend in-person sales events – in and out of office hours  

Position Requirements:

  • A passion for, and strong knowledge of, ETG destination(s)
  • A keen interest in a career in sales over the medium term 
  • Natural communication skills, with an ability to build relationships.

Training That Will Be Given:

The job will start with intensive training and development, focusing on who we are, what we offer our customers, and how we provide value. The particular focus will be on the early stages of our sales process, so the successful candidate understands how to respond to enquiries by adding value and helping the customer determine if we are the right company. 

Critical to this is an understanding of what ETG holidays look like, so a FAM trip to one of our destinations will be offered in the early months. 

The role is a stepping stone into a consultant role, over a 1 to 2 year period. Training and support will be offered throughout to support that development.
