After many years of war and neglect, elephants are a rare sight in Cambodia, and Kulen Elephant Forest is a one-off. This excellent sanctuary exists to educate visitors about the Kingdom's conservation issues and provide a home for 12 retired elephants. These particular pachyderms spent many years giving rides to tourists around the Angkor temples. Thankfully they now roam free here in the forest, and as guests, you'll have the chance to watch them and walk with them.
After a morning in their company, you'll be served a picnic in a clearing. The elephants will remain nearby, and you can enjoy lunch whilst continuing to observe them as they forage, play and generally mind their own business!
