Rivers, Rhinos and Culture
Discover Bengal India's bustling cities, mighty rivers, and teeming wildlife with this in-depth 18 day itinerary
The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kaziranga National Park spans over 1000 square kilometers of tropical forests, marshlands, and plains of tall elephant grass. It is home to two-thirds of the world’s population of Indian rhinos, with an estimated 2600 of the one-horned giants roaming the park’s rich and diverse landscapes. Aside from the rhinos, the park is also a sanctuary for hundreds of other animals including elephants, tigers, swamp deer, and buffalos, to name a few. Birders also flock to the park (excuse the pun) to see some of the hundreds of resident and migratory species that inhabit the forests.
