Info : Ratan Vilas
Maharaj Ratan Singhji of Raoti constructed Ratan Vilas in 1920 and for years, it has been used as a private residence. Now converted into a great value heritage hotel, Ratan Vilas is a popular choice for those travelling through Jodhpur in Rajasthan thanks to its homely atmosphere, authentic and delicious Rajasthani cuisine, and warm welcome.
Guest rooms are spacious and tastefully furnished with lovely Indian pieces, and there are plenty of family photos to study on the wall. Some of the rooms feel a little dark, particularly those clustered around the courtyard under a canopy. All the same, the atmosphere is pleasant and the pool on-site is great. Enjoy simple pleasures such as breakfast served in the garden and delicious home-cooked Rajasthani meals under the stars in the courtyard in the evenings.
What really makes Ratan Vilas stand out is the standard of service here: it’s warm, welcoming, and always beyond the call of duty. If you’re after plentifly facilities or international five star luxury, you won’t find them at Ratan Vilas, so come here instead for a more personal, homely feel for your stay in Jodhpur and surrounds.
Comfort - This is our lead in category. There will generally be a no frills approach and while some will be characterful, some will do exactly what it says on the tin - provide a clean, comfortable and good value place to spend the night. These places are normally 3* hotels.
The one-on-one guide arranged with Experience Travel Group enabled me to get so much more from my trip to India. As well as the almost compulsory visits to the Taj Mahal and Red Fort, I was shown a variety of busy towns and mall villages, traditional crafts and skills, religious buildings and practices, architecture and wildlife, finishing with a very relaxing stay in Tikli Bottom.
