In a quiet setting, perfectly located to explore the beauty of Old Goa, The Postcard Velha offers villa-style, spacious accommodation away from the well-touristed beaches of Goa, making it ideal for those wanting to get away from the crowds and explore Goa’s beautiful interior.
The property is located close by to explore Divar Island and the surrounding backwaters and is very close to the capital, Panjim and the beautiful latin neighbourhood of Fontainhas. You can also tour the grounds, relax in the spacious, lush gardens, swim in the pool, cycle through the palm tree clad local area and enjoy the abundant birdlife both in and around the property and in nearby Salim Ali bird sanctuary. We highly recommend visiting the beautiful but unloved Chapel of Our Lady of the Mount church for the best sunset views over Old Goa.
There are two colonial-style villas available that accommodate up to 6 people, making them ideal for families or groups, however the spacious rooms can be used separately too and are very private. You’ll find 3 bedrooms in each, with their own bathrooms and verandah. With a lovely living room, patios stretching around the villa and leafy courtyards, there are plenty of places to sit back and relax. As for dining, you can sit outdoors and enjoy traditional Indian or Continental meals prepared by the in-house chef. The kitchen is open at all times so you’ll easily be able to snack throughout the day.
Goa is known for its beaches, but the beautiful interior is under appreciated. Staying at The Postcard Velha allows you to easily explore this lush area and is particularly convenient for access to Old Goa.
If the beaches of Goa are really important to you, then this might not be the best option for you as the nearest beach is at least 30 minutes away. But a couple of nights in The Postcard Velha plus time in a beach property will offer you a real insight to both sides of Goa!
Superior - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, in terms of character, guest experience or facilities too.
