Vientiane - Nam Ngum Lake Tour, Vientiane

You will be met early by your local guide and driver for this scenic full-day tour to Nam Ngum Lake, approximately 90 kilometres north of Vientiane. Along the way, it is possible to make a stop to observe the traditional salt extraction at the village of Ban Keun, and sticky rice wine distillation at Ban Pak Khanhung.

Arrive at the scenic and vast Man Ngum Lake for your boat trip, while enjoying the panoramic views. The lake is artificial, with many small islands scattered around that have formed since the Ngum River was dammed for hydroelectricity. As you meander along, you can enjoy a swim in the clear waters before returning to a local restaurant for lunch. From here, you will then begin your journey back to Vientiane, stopping at the fascinating archaeological site of Vang Xang, an ethnic minority market often frequented by Hmong people.
