Head out in a 4x4 vehicle into the Jebel Qara Mountains, stopping to take in the birdlife, natural limestone formations and springs. Continue driving through little villages and landscapes, with plenty of time to stop for photos. Wadi Ayun is especially picturesque, with its green and blue hues of water surrounded by vegetation. Winding up higher into the hills, passing cattle and camels, visit the ancient tomb of Job, the Prophet sitting amongst the emerald mountains.
Now it’s time to explore the coastline, stopping to relax on the white sands of Mughsail beach where the Indian Ocean skirts around Oman’s shores. Take a short wander through the valley nearby, taking in the incredible landscapes and smell of frankincense trees. End your day relaxing on the region’s most beautiful beach of all, Fazayah. Its sands are golden, the turquoise waters are tempting, and towering mountain cliffs surround you.
