Set on a pristine sweep of Kalkudah Beach, Karpaha Sands feels wonderfully remote. You’ll arrive down a dusty track with only the rustle of palms and the sound of the waves for company.
Within the peaceful surroundings of a coconut plantation, the ocean is right on your doorstep. Explore with the sand beneath your toes and spend your days relaxing on sun loungers on the beach, by the large saltwater pool or on your private deck. You may even see the local fishermen hauling in the nets in the mornings. The beach is tranquil and pristine, and swimming conditions are quite good year-round, though the seas are calmest when the weather is great in the summer.
Karpaha Sands offers a beautiful beach stay and is a fantastic option in the summer months. With its serene location and tent-style of accommodation, it makes for a memorable beach stay on the east coast.
It’s ideal for couples or families looking to unwind, with space to roam, a gentle rhythm to the days, and just the right amount of low-key indulgence. It’s not about nightlife or ticking off sights—it’s about quiet moments, nature, and thoughtful comfort.
The Rooms
There are 17 tents divided into three categories. All are very spacious and decorated in natural materials. You’ll have a plush king-size bed, living area, indoor bathroom with outdoor shower, air-conditioning and a private deck with sun loungers. Palam suites have direct sea views in the shade of the coconut palms, while the Kolaya suites are set amongst the gardens and offer more privacy. Great for families or groups, the Seed rooms have two bedrooms.
