Cambodia and The Maldives Explorer
The cultural sights of Angkor and Bangkok combined with relaxation Robinson Crusoe style in the Maldives.
The Bangkok Walking Food Tour is a superb meander through old Bang Rak District. This fascinating tour lasts for roughly 3 hours and takes in a number of excellent little restaurants and cultural sights – the kind you'd be unlikely to find without local knowledge.
Wandering leisurely and stopping at long-established eateries, sample the delights of a wide range of Thai dishes, influenced by different parts of Thai history and culture.
As well as offering you some incredible food, the tour takes you past temples and skyscrapers, dives down small lanes and even includes a boat trip across the Chao Phraya River. Led by a friendly and informative guide, you will learn much about Thai food as well as this historic and thriving corner of the city.
Dishes on the menu include Roasted Duck on Rice, Thai Papaya Salad, Crispy Catfish Salad with Green Mango Sauce, Thai Curry on Egg, Thai Custard Bun, Beef Satay with Peanut Sauce, Traditional Green Curry with Roti and delicious Coconut Ice Cream to finish. You can also try herbal drinks and teas and pass a vast array of food to give you even more ideas for dinner!
This tour is cleverly designed with sensible portion sizes to enable you to try as many dishes as possible. Even so, to prepare yourself it is advisable to skip breakfast (or at least exercise restraint!) - you want to make the most of this delicious and enlightening walk.
This is one of our favourite activities in Thailand and really takes you a step closer to finding some of the culinary delights the country has to offer. You will also be able to use this experience to find more interesting food in the rest of Thailand, and to start balancing your flavours like a local!
