Orchid Cruises follow a route around Lan Ha Bay - a part of Halong that few boats visit. You avoid the main crowds on Orchid Cruises but you also have a shorter road transfer to reach the bay from Hanoi than you would for most other boats.
Orchid has three boats called Classic, Trendy (20 cabins) and Premium (5 cabins). Cabins have private balconies and full water views. There are connecting rooms which work well for families. The rooms/suites are sizeable, and well-appointed and feature elegant furnishings, plenty of natural light and bathrooms with tubs and standing showers. The particularly exclusive Orchid Suites have jacuzzis, private sun lounges and king-sized beds.
Take a 2-day/1 night trip to Lan Ha Bay or a 3-day/2 night schedule, and you’ll enjoy the beauty of the magnificent bay combined with visits to floating villages, impressive caves and the opportunity to kayak too.
Deluxe - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
