Warwick Gardens is a beautifully restored and furnished nineteenth-century cottage and boutique hotel. The 6-acre estate, 6,000 feet above sea level, is at the back of a horse-shoe shaped valley and provides simply stunning views to all sides, particularly to the east where the mountainous peaks of Nuwara Eliya dramatically fall away.
The traditional decor of the five rooms and living areas, coupled with the colonial style service, provide a hugely relaxing and comfortable setting in which to set your own pace during your stay. The grounds have their own fruit orchard and vegetable garden, there are plenty of walks in the surrounding mountains or you can simply relax in the incredibly peaceful garden.
Despite being in a vegetable growing area, tea estates are never far away and excursions to these and most of the attractions of the upper hill country can be arranged. Nuwara Eliya and its colonial charm are a short drive away, Horton Plains is accessible and Hakgala Botanical Gardens offer an alternative to those in Kandy. However, it is the breathtaking views and luxuriously relaxing setting that provides the real charm to Warwick Gardens.
