Teeming with lush teak and sal forests with lots of water bodies and plenty of wildlife throughout, Pench Tiger Reserve is what inspired Rudyard Kipling to write the Jungle Book.
There is a high concentration of herbivores and a large number of Indian wild dogs, and of course, those elusive tigers. Baghvan Jungle Lodge is not walled in, which means it’s possible to watch the tigers along their path directly from the courtyard or greet a sambar deer in the morning.
The extensive facilities include a swimming pool, an interactive kitchen, in-room massage and plenty of lovely spaces for relaxing.
Although it’s a high-end option, staying here at Baghvan Jungle Lodge is an all-around incredible experience, as they strike a good balance between luxury, comfort and socially responsible tourism in the jungle.
The Rooms
The rooms all have private courtyards and indoor/outdoor bathrooms. The furnishings are lavish and luxurious, and the ambience throughout the lodge is classy and elegant in shades of teal and aquamarine.
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can sleep under the stars on an open rooftop machan or a converted platform.
