Set within quiet coconut grove on Koh Kood’s east coast, Shantaa is an understated yet luxurious island retreat focused on calm and space.
The name, which means tranquillity in Hindi, fits perfectly.
Shantaa Koh Kood is a family-owned resort, and you can sense the personal touches throughout. The staff are not classically trained and instead bring an air of genuine island hospitality and warmth.
The resort is specifically designed to have only a few villas to limit the number of guests at any one time and is all the better for it.

Shantaa Koh Kood has an excellent beach bar which also provides towels and kayaks to guests. There’s a vast swimming pool and the beach is just a stone’s throw away. The main restaurant is open on all sides and enjoys great sea views in a relaxed setting.
We’d say it’s one of our favourite places in Thailand to escape to and embrace island life.

The Rooms
These come in the form of superb 1 and 2-bedroom villas.
All have king-size beds, air-conditioning, and wonderful, spacious bathrooms.
A lot of natural light floods in through the vast windows and each comes with a private terrace to take in those seaviews.
Shantaa has intentionally not included TVs in the rooms, so you’ll get a bit of a digial detox here and decompress.
