Cambodia and The Maldives Explorer
The cultural sights of Angkor and Bangkok combined with relaxation Robinson Crusoe style in the Maldives.
Formerly the French consulate, this 1960s art-deco building was masterfully restored and reinvented to form this beautiful boutique hotel. With plenty of charm and a mix of old and new, it sits by the Siem Reap river and provides a tranquil place to retreat to after a day of exploring.
The property offers great facilities, like the saltwater swimming pool dotted with sun loungers and topical plants. Detached from the residential area of the property is the main restaurant and Scribe bar located on a raised veranda and terrace overlooking the river, which is a particularly lovely spot for a drink in the evening. The Mansion restaurant is even popular with non-guests and serves up delicious Khmer, Asian fusion and international dishes. If you’re looking to unwind a little further, the spa offers an array of treatments.
The 80 colonial yet contemporary rooms and suites combine their luxuries and comforts in an open-plan space. Natural light is let in by floor-to-ceiling windows and the neutral colour palette accompanied by wooden furnishings blends in with the tropical environment. Some face out to a walkway, while others look out over the pool. The bathrooms are just as beautiful and modern, while the suites have deep bathtubs to soak in.
If a boutique hotel with a touch of history, the FCC is an excellent option for your stay in Siem Reap. Looking for extra space and a tad more luxury? We suggest opting for the suites.
Superior - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, in terms of character, guest experience or facilities too.
