Essential Java and Bali
The best of Bali's the culture, scenery and beaches along with the magical temples and history of Java.
The Phoenix Hotel is part of the MGallery collection of hotels found throughout Southeast Asia and is a beautifully designed historic building renovated to a very high standard. This hotel itself dates back to 1918 and is a landmark in the city. Although larger than many of the hotels in our portfolio, it has many elegant spaces and Dutch colonial influences, so even fans of smaller boutique hotels will be impressed.
Situated just a short walk from Malioboro Street, the most famous street in Yogyakarta it’s easy to explore on foot, and take in the local sites this city has to offer. There are many restaurants nearby, but the hotel itself boasts ones of the cities finest and is a great place to try out the local Javanese fare.
The hotel has many facilities including an intimate pool in a courtyard setting, gym and spa, plus a couple of different bars for evening drinks. All the rooms have their balcony; our particular favourite rooms are the deluxe pool view, which leads directly through double doors to the pool. All rooms are designed to reflect modern Indonesian design, and this hotel feels far from a big international chain hotel.
Phoenix Hotel is an ideal base for a stay in Yogyakarta, with so much character and history, a lovely pool and central location; it’s a great all-round hotel for all of our clients.
