Sri Lanka In Depth With The Maldives
Three-week holiday taking in the local culture, nature, wildlife and of Sri Lanka with five blissful days in The Maldives.
This boutique eco-hotel sits along the edge of the Halmilla Lake in the heart of Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle within an unspoilt landscape. You’ll be treated to unique views of both Sigiriya Rock and Pidurangala, in a superb location well-suited to explore the region’s highlights.
As it’s a family-owned hotel, staff are always on hand to offer their friendly, engaging service, making your stay that little bit more special. The Sky Lounge has some of the best seats in the house if you want to relax with a drink and a truly special view. You’ll find the pool is very inviting after a day of exploring, plus in the evenings you are treated to BBQ dinners and authentic meals. You can even spot an array of wildlife residing in and around the lake, so it makes for a lovely setting for a leisurely morning or afternoon stroll.
This is a small resort with just eight rooms, all of which are well-designed, clean and comfortable. You can sit out on your private patio and take in the views of both majestic rocks. For something a little more unique, the Bird’s Nest is a wooden treehouse offering both privacy and breathtaking views over the property.
If boutique properties where attention to service is the priority, then King’s provides an excellent base from which to explore the Cultural Triangle. In fact, the resort is almost a destination in itself!
Superior - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, in terms of character, guest experience or facilities too.
