Capella Ubud
Bold design,
Luxury tents,
Tropical haven
Couples,
Families with teens
Bold and beautiful, Capella Ubud is a design masterpiece by the brilliant Bill Bensley, tucked within a jungle setting.
This high-end hotel makes the most of its lovely location blending seamlessly into the tropical forest around it. We love that no trees were cut during the construction and it overlooks verdant valley views. Just look at that bedroom vista…
This terrific tented camp is a good match for couples, adventurous families and anyone seeking a stay with serious wow-factor. Trust us, even the trickiest of teens will love this place.
You could easily spend all your time here admiring the seemingly never-ending decorations, antiques, and books dotted around the hotel and enjoying your pool while soaking up the ambient sounds of the forest around you. However, you don’t want to miss out on the hotel’s ‘Capella Curates’ activities. A great way to connect with the local area (as well as great fun), these include immersive experiences like visiting a local farming village, having a go at cooking Balinese dishes and trying your hand at traditional Keliki painting (to name just a few).
The Rooms
Around 20 tented rooms are scattered throughout the greenery and come with phenomenal private pools and one-of-a-kind interiors inspired by 19th-century European settlers.
The quirky themes and meticulous attention to detail are exactly what you’d expect from a Bill Bensley hotel (which is why we rate them so highly).
They have all the bells and whistles you can imagine. We especially like the billowing caponies over the four-poster beds and copper bathtubs.
