Tucked away in the lush green forests of Jambughoda, the palace is a charming reminder of India’s regal past.
The family-run heritage home spans 12 acres and is surrounded by 100 acres of farmland and orchards, making it a serene spot to get in touch with nature and immerse yourself in local culture.
Overall, we’d recommend the hotel to couples, families, and groups looking for a relaxing stay in the tranquil countryside in a historical location with rustic charm.
The palace itself is over 200 years old and still belongs to and is staffed by the descendants of the original owners, so there’s plenty of chance to learn about the stories and history of the family and the region during your stay.
If your historical itch still needs scratching, the ancient sites of Pavagadh and Champaner are just a 30-minute drive away. The father of the owner was also instrumental in ensuring the nearby Jambughoda Wildlife Sanctuary became a protected area.
The Rooms
As with many heritage properties in India, rooms are spacious with high ceilings, and although simple in design, many still have original wooden furniture and are decorated with local tapestries and family memorabilia.
Although the rooms are equipped with modern amenities, it’s worth noting that not all the rooms have AC. While not such a problem in the cooler months, we’d recommend specifying an AC room if visiting during the summer.
