In this selection of suggested holidays to the Indian Himalayas, you’ll discover a vast area from west to east India mainly across three states: Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and West Bengal. Our walking holidays focus on the foothills, with comparatively gentle Himalayan trekking (though certain areas do get quite steep!) For a more relaxed experience, you can stay in a variety of beautiful boutique hotels with staggering views of the Himalayan peaks.
Uttarakhand was once known for its spiritual vibe, particularly at Rishikesh and Haridwar, but is now opening up to the more adventurous traveller, with some great trekking, white water rafting and wildlife opportunities.
Himachal Pradesh is India’s spectacular go-to for outdoor adventure and the famous hill station of Shimla. The “Land of Snow” in India’s Himalayas has soaring snow-capped peaks, awe-inspiring views, rugged landscapes, and crisp mountain air too.
West Bengal is a large state with the Himalayas in the far north, bordering Bhutan in an area called Sikkim – Darjeeling is the usual gateway into this heartland of Buddhism. In the south of West Bengal, you’ll find Kolkata and the Sundarbans for wildlife enthusiasts. Kolkata is a wonderful gateway for exploring the east of India as well as one of India's most vibrant cities.
Everything we do is tailor-made: these are just examples. Challenge us to create a great experience for you and we'll make sure you get the edge on all aspects of your luxury holiday in India.
