Jungle Lore Birding Lodge
Exceptional birding location,
Scenic forest surroundings,
Peaceful escape
Nature Lovers,
Birders,
Couples
Tucked into the oak forests of Pangot, Jungle Lore is one of the best bases for birding in India.
You won’t even need to leave the grounds to encounter vibrant birdlife, over 250 species have been spotted here. You’ll wake up to sweeping views of the mountains and dense woodland all around.
It’s a humble property with fairly basic facilities so bear this in mind. The atmosphere is peaceful and the setting exceptional, offering a chance to slow down and soak in your scenic surroundings.
This lodge is best suited to birders and hikers who want direct access to forest trails and wildlife, rather than polished facilities. It may not be worth the journey if these activities aren’t high on your list.
Aside from birdwatching, you can set off from the lodge on village walks, visit Ban Sagar Lake, or join a local cooking class.
Jungle Lore links well with Delhi, Corbett National Park or further travel into Uttarakhand.
The Rooms
You’ll rise to the sounds of bird calls and rustling leaves outside your cottage.
Each room is spacious and comes with a balcony where you can sit back and listen to the birdsong. They aren’t luxurious, but they’re comfortable and cosy. Interiors are simple and unpretentious, offering a calm retreat that reflects the lodge’s rustic ethos.
