Calcutta Bungalow
Heritage restoration,
Local immersion
Couples,
Solos
In the heart of Bengali Kolkata, the Calcutta Bungalow is a lovingly restored former merchants house and now humble heritage property oozing with charm and quirky features.
Locally employed staff provide non-intrusive, friendly service and the owners have a sustainable approach to the property, with every part of the structure being built from reclaimed or recycled materials.
The Calcutta Bungalow is perfect for those seeking a humble, peaceful stay, though if you prefer larger scale properties with more facilities, this may not be the right choice.
The property is also away from the British influenced area of the city, which means this could add a bit of time to your excursions but it is very convenient for airport access. Stay here for a truly memorable experience in the heart of Bengali Kolkata.
You can rent a bicycle and cycle around the streets yourself if you want an adventure, or take part in a cooking class to learn more about Bengali cuisine.
Food is sourced from the nearby local markets, and delicious, traditional Bengali dishes are served up.
The Rooms
All 6 rooms are unique in design and are each named after old neighbourhoods in the city. They’re rustic and comfortable, with colourful decor.
You can even enjoy your breakfast or a drink in the sun out on the terrace.
