National Geographic has listed Evolve Back Resort in the top 25 eco-lodges in the world, and for good reason.
The sweeping views, tribal design, traditionally crafted furnishings, modern luxury facilities, and energy-efficient practices are all very impressive, but above all, it’s the unforgettable blend of resort facilities with nature and village life that makes a stay here truly special.
The eco nature of this lodge means you won’t find air conditioning outside of the bedroom or heating in the pool or Jacuzzi, but if that doesn’t concern you, this is a fabulous and friendly place to get lost in the wild for a few days.
The Kabini River borders Evolve Back Resort on two sides, offering some mighty nice views and some very glorious sunsets. This river is part of the grand and glorious Nagarhole National Park, 643 square kilometres of rosewood and teak forests nestled in the foothills in Mysore and Kodagu. The river lends itself to outstanding boat safaris, and you can go on an off-road adventure by jeep, take tours of coffee & spice plantations, go bird watching or set off on electric bike trails.
The Ayurvedic treatments here are world-class, and there’s a gorgeous infinity pool at the lake’s edge. For contemplation, there’s a reading lounge and lots of beautiful outdoor spaces, and there are two restaurants as well as private dining areas.
The Rooms
The huts are inspired by the tribal Kadu kuruba architecture, combining tradition with plenty of modern luxury perks. The tribal patterns and ethnic furniture give this place a very special vibe, harmonious and relaxing but also quite fascinating. Some of the huts have their own private pool or Jacuzzi.
