Stunning Wildlife and Ancient History on a beautiful Island made more special by the friendly welcoming people along the way.
A 17 day trip to Sri Lanka to the cultural triangle, the tea country , then to wildlife safari parks and briefly the coast. This must be one of the most beautiful islands in the world. We climbed several peaks to see spectacular views and explored the very ancient Dambulla Caves. Best of all was the wildlife and in particular the off the beaten track Gal Oya Park made extra special by the brilliant naturalists.
Our holiday was curated by Sara at Experience Travel Group who clearly has an in depth knowledge of this part of the world.
We wanted small boutique hotels in beautiful settings and that brief was met fully. We wanted to see wildlife in remote and quiet settings and that was spectacularly achieved at Gal Oya.
Urgent changes had to be made to our holiday over the weekend before we travelled because of the Middle East crisis and ETG were not only easily contactable but responded quickly in difficult circumstances.
Magical trip with ETG
We stayed for two weeks in Thailand, travelling from Chiang Mai to Sukhothai, down to Bangkok, then Khow Sok and an island. An amazing and stimulating breath of experience - loads of wonderful memories and moments.
We had a wonderful trip fully organised by Experience Travel Group - despite five different spots across the lengths of Thailand, we were incredibly well looked after - no issues at all as we were guided from place to place. Great hotel choices and activities
Wow what a great holiday
Visiting Sri Lanka for our first time. We took in not only the tourist “hot spots” of Dambulla Caves, Sigiriyia Rock, Temple of the Tooth, and the ruins of Polonnaruwa, we also cycled around villages, cooking & eating with the locals and kayaked in Kalawewa National Park to see wild elephants and had an afternoon at the Royal Botanical Gardens too. ETG even arranged for us to visit a local secondary school and join in with some netball, volleyball and rugby training.
ETG are all about arranging the experiences that you would like to have on your holiday. It was tailor made for us and our interests. We really felt that we saw the real Sri Lanka, not just the tourist route.
Magical Sri Lanka
A three week tour of this beautiful island staying at some of the smaller and very special 'boutique' hotels. The birdlife and scenery blew us away, as did the hospitality and kindness of the local people. Some incredible experiences and memories that will last forever.
Experience Travel Group (ETG) were very supportive with our planning and took time and care to understand what we look for in a holiday. Everything was well organised, and we had a wonderful driver who made sure we got the most out of our stay. ETG were also very proactive and supportive in arranging alternative flights for our return to the UK due to the Middle East crisis. They took all of the stress out of the situation and couldn't have done more..
Another wonderful ETG eperience in Sri Lanka – our third trip there with them, as well as another trip to Vietnam.
So great to return to the lovely Tear Drop island and experience its wonderful nature, people, food and hospitality.

Wonderful experiences in Vietnam
Just over two weeks seeing Vietnam north to south. We stayed in four hotels and had a two night cruise at Lang Ha Bay.
This is, we think, our seventh trip with Experience Travel.
They discuss our wishes with us, and offer an itinerary, which we then finalise with them.
They find excellent hotels which usually have character rather than being the standard international hotel.
