Info : Sepilok Nature Resort, Kabili-Sepilok Forest

In the Kabili-Sepilok Jungle, Sepilok Nature Resort offers lodge style accommodation, good food, and a very special atmosphere. Just a few kilometres away from the town, this tropical haven still gives you the feel of hiding out deep in the forest.

Kabili-Sepilok Forest is renowned for its wonderful orchids, enormous ancient trees, and of course, the orangutan community of northern Borneo. Make sure you catch the Sun Bear Sanctuary as well as the orangutan sanctuary, they are both in close proximity. Here you can enjoy birding, jungle trekking, or a whole range of other activities. Enjoy a cruise along the Kinabatangan River through Sukau or to Turtle Island. Many travellers stop here for a few days of getting close with nature before embarking on a diving trip in Lankayan.

All rooms are very large with elegant furnishings, lavish en-suite bathroom facilities, air conditioning, and private balconies. You can choose from a double or a twin room, and extra beds can be provided to accommodate small groups or families.

All in all, we think the Sepilok Nature Resort is comfortable, clean, attractive, and welcoming – a good choice for families and couples wishing to explore the area. It’s not a five star facility with all the extra bits and pieces, but it is more than enough for a pleasant and comfortable sojourn in this beautiful part of Borneo.

Rating

Eco/Adventure - This category covers gorgeous lodges in the jungle, comfortable safari camps and dreamy, but simple, beach cabanas. These places defy conventional categorisation: what is communing with nature to one person may be terrifying bugs to another! Many of these places are very comfortable and the service generally of a very high level - but please read the website review carefully and/or talk to us and be sure to have understood what you are letting yourselves in for!

Customer Feedback
Our guide Rin in Mulu was wonderful with the children and informative in the caves. She always had a ready smile and a good sense of humour.
