Tabin Wildlife Resort , Tabin Wildlife Reserve
Borneo, Borneo (Sabah)

Info : Tabin Wildlife Resort

Tabin Wildlife Resort is a budget accommodation option in the stunning Tabin wildlife reserve, where you can expect clean and simple accommodation in chalets and bungalows while you trek, hike, climb and sail though the spectacular surrounding rainforests. Expect a restful café area, clean basic facilities, and buffet style dining on the hillside.

In eastern Sabah, the Tabin wildlife reserve is full of fascinating wildlife species, including the Borneo pygmy elephant, the Sumatran Rhino, and the tembadau. This area is wonderful for birding, night safaris, and jungle trekking. A whole range of tailored adventure activities can be arranged in Tabin – everything from frog hunting to orchid spotting or a helicopter flight over the mud volcanos.

The rooms here are cabin style, adequate, sparse and clean. Choose from a jungle lodge, a river lodge, or a hill lodge. All rooms feature private balconies, ceiling fans, and hot water. Air-conditioned rooms are available. Timber boardwalks connect the lodges to the rest of the resort.

If you’re coming to check out the wildlife in this very special and remote area of Borneo, you might not be too fussed about bells and whistles, in which case we would recommend staying at the Tabin Wildlife Resort and simply enjoying the natural surroundings. You might disagree if you want modern extensive facilities or star treatment.

Eco/Adventure - This category covers gorgeous lodges in the jungle, comfortable safari camps and dreamy, but simple, beach cabanas. These places defy conventional categorisation: what is communing with nature to one person may be terrifying bugs to another! Many of these places are very comfortable and the service generally of a very high level - but please read the website review carefully and/or talk to us and be sure to have understood what you are letting yourselves in for!

Customer Feedback
ETG's Matt was always accessible (even though we are based in Hong Kong) and efficient in replying. Will be happy to recommend and use him again! Our guide Bryant in Abai was a real gem. He was very polite, incredibly well spoken, informative, intelligent and gentle. He foresaw our needs, such as ordering chips for the children's lunch, and went out of his way to make things comfortable for us. He was a pleasure to spend time with.
