Cocotinos Manado
Sensational snorkelling and diving
Couples, Families
This boutique dive resort sits in the heart of Kima Bajo, a fishing village by one of Indonesia’s best spots for snorkelling and diving.
Less than half an hour from Manado Airport and just a short boat ride to the Bunaken National Marine Park, it’s an easy, well-placed base for going on underwater adventures.
With a laid back, friendly service and lovely views of Siladen and Bunaken Islands, the property is well-run, cosy and comfortable. Eco-friendly building materials have been used to blend with the surrounding villages and coconut grove.
Lush, colourful gardens surround the property and pool area, offering pretty spots to soak up the sunset over the ocean. Local and international cuisine is served at the Deho Restaurant & Bar on the open deck over the water and under the stars.
It’s worth noting that there is no beach as such, and you cannot swim off the shore. The surrounding area is not quite an idyllic beach paradise either. However, the property is a very pleasant and great value, especially for keen divers or those wanting an easy first or last couple of nights in Manado.
The Rooms
This retreat has 22 rooms, set amongst the gardens, with views of either the pool or ocean. Designed to be simple and practical with modern amenities, high ceilings and daybeds, they are spacious and comfortable.
If you’re looking for something extra, the suites have lovely views over the ocean from the private spa on the balcony.
