137 Pillars is a boutique hideaway in Chiang Mai’s riverside quarter, built around a restored teak homestead and surrounded by tropical gardens.
The blend of heritage charm and contemporary comfort makes it feel genuinely special.
Set in a cosmopolitan pocket of the city, with European-inspired architecture, local artisans and plenty of places to eat nearby, it’s an excellent choice for anyone after a luxurious, characterful stay in Chiang Mai.

Along with the large airy suites are a number of spaces to explore and relax around the grounds.
The library bar is a great place to learn more about the history of Thailand and the Chiang Mai region, as well as an after-dinner drink. The open-air Parlour lounge is perfect for afternoon tea. A comfortable relaxed restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner every day.
There’s a lovely, long pool to cool off in overlooking gorgeous greenery, too.

The Rooms
Thirty suites of four different categories combine oriental elegance with the modern comforts expected of a luxury hotel. In all rooms, you’ll find books on Thai history and on local flora and fauna as well as luxury entertainment systems. The suites all have a stylish yet homely feel.
Our favourite rooms are the William Bain Terrace suites, with their super king size beds, generous living room and airy, vintage tiled veranda. Relax in your own separate indoor and outdoor garden area.
