Ariyasom Villa is a peaceful and characterful boutique hotel tucked away in the heart of Bangkok.
Surrounded by landscaped gardens and shaded by mature trees, this hotel is a lovingly preserved 1940s family home, which offers a rare sense of charm and calm in the city.
The retreat is capably run by husband and wife team, David and Ariya, as it’s been in her family since it was built. David brings vast experience in the trade, and they treat this project as a true labour of love. They create a friendly, laid-back atmosphere with charming staff.
Few hotels in the city combine this level of sophistication with such a relaxed and informal atmopshere.
The buildings are designed in traditional Thai style with teak floors, handmade silks and antique furniture throughout.
At the centre, a saltwater swimming pool provides a welcome retreat: flanked by sun loungers on one side and parasol-shaded seating on the other, it’s a great place to unwind with a drink or a good book.
Na Aroon, the hotel’s intimate restaurant, specialises in organic vegetarian and seafood cuisine, served in a quiet room overlooking the garden. The spa is set in a tranquil wooden sala and offers a menu of traditional Thai treatments, alongside a Jacuzzi and steam room for further relaxation.
The Rooms
There are just 24 rooms and each is bright and spacious with high ceilings, king-size beds and en-suite bathrooms featuring both bath and shower.
Natural light filters through large windows, and some rooms have private balconies for added privacy and outdoor space.
