A grown-up beach hideaway on Koh Lanta’s west coast, all leafy gardens, quiet sand and sunsets over the Andaman Sea.
Layana is a small, adults-only resort on Koh Lanta, in Thailand’s Krabi province. It sits on a lovely, peaceful stretch of beach, framed by lush tropical gardens.
It’s the kind of place where the hardest decision of the day is whether to swim in the pool or the sea.
The main pool looks straight out to sea, and there’s a separate wellness pool for quieter moments.
The spa has indoor and outdoor treatment rooms, along with saunas and a full menu of massages. If you’re feeling more active, the on-site water sports centre can arrange diving, snorkelling and kayaking.
When it comes to food and drink, there’s a smart restaurant for dinner, a beach bar for sundowners and a poolside lounge for long, lazy afternoons.
All in all, this is a relaxed, romantic island escape that’s easy to reach from Krabi.
The Rooms
There are 57 spacious rooms and suites. The Garden Pavilions are set around the lawn, while the Beach Suites are single-storey and sit right on the sand.
The two-storey Ocean Deluxe Suites are also beachfront, with a separate living area.
Every room has a bathtub, a separate shower and a private balcony, and the suites add an outdoor rain shower.
