Perched on a quiet canal in Bangkok Noi, this destinctive private villa has a real sense of place and even featured in The White Lotus.
Siri Sala is a thoughtful reimagining of three century-old teak houses arranged around a leafy central courtyard, where Thai heritage meets elegant design.
Now part of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, the serene five-room retreat is offered by the room, rather than as a full villa (though it still feels more like a private home than a hotel).
With fully inclusive dining, drinks, curated experiences, spa treatments, and its own private pier, it’s one of Bangkok’s most exclusive and welcoming stays.
Siri Sala is an excellent choice for couples, culture-focused travellers, and return visitors who’ve seen Bangkok’s busy side and are seeking some peace and quiet.
Thoughtfully restored and layered with history, this isn’t flashy luxury, it’s got character. Take, for example, the spacious, semi-outdoor living room, which is reminiscent of traditional stilted Thai houses, or the hand-painted murals on the ceilings.
The saltwater swimming pool’s tiles have even been carefully chosen to complement the natural hues of the river right next door.
And the gorgeous garden is bursting with chillies, basil, limes, and lemongrass.
The Rooms
With just five villa suites, available to book individually or as a full takeover, Siri Sala keeps things nice and intimate.
Every room has at least one reclaimed feature from the original riverside homes: hardwood floors, antiques, or ceiling murals, which nod to the past but with 21st-century comforts.
All come with lovely bathrooms (some are even al fresco), and either soothing river or garden views.
