Situated midway by boat between Phuket and Krabi, Ao Phang Nga National Park is famed for its dramatic limestone cliffs rising from serene green waters.
These jagged karsts fringe the coastline all the way to Krabi, offering one of Thailand’s most iconic seascapes. The scenery reached global fame with the James Bond film The Man With The Golden Gun, which gave Ko Kan its enduring nickname, ‘James Bond Island’.

The park is a popular day trip from either Phuket or Krabi, often topping must-see lists for visitors. However, its popularity means it can become crowded, especially at peak hours. To avoid the masses, it’s best to arrive early. Kayaking is a superb way to experience the cliffs and hidden caves, while alternative boat routes offer quieter ways to explore this breathtaking part of Thailand.
