Tam Coc Garden
Soul-stirring scenery,
Secluded oasis,
Couples
Just 100km from Hanoi in lovely Ninh Binh, Tam Coc Garden Resort feels like its own little oasis.
‘Garden’ feels like a massive understatement, since at Tam Coc you are entirely surrounded by tangles of lush greenery, calm waters, rice paddy fields, bamboo groves, orchards and tropical flowers. And then there are the majestic limestone mountains that line the horizon.
The resort borders the Red River Delta and there are countless caves, temples, waterfalls, valleys, villages, national parks and nature reserves within easy reach. As a plus there’s also the opportunity to get involved in local life and culture and try your hand at traditional trades. Biking around to all the sights is safe and free, so forget dealing with taxis or cars and make the most of two-wheel travel while you’re here.
Ideal for couples, nature lovers and anyone drawn to peaceful surroundings, Tam Coc Garden is a tranquil base in one of Vietnam’s most picturesque regions.
It’s particularly well suited to slow travel: days here are best spent cycling through rice paddies, visiting local villages, and soaking up the natural beauty of Ninh Binh’s karst-studded landscapes. With just 16 rooms and an emphasis on cultural connection and calm, it’s a place to truly switch off and appreciate Vietnam at a gentler pace.
There’s a pool, a bar, a great restaurant and friendly staff here, but the main attraction over other hotels in the area is certainly the resort garden and its surrounding landscapes.
The Rooms
Tam Coc Garden Resort is not a large-scale enterprise: sixteen rooms give the resort an intimate feel.
They’re located in spacious bungalows, with private terraces and, while all of the pleasantly designed room types are the same size; they offer different views of either the hotel gardens or the rice paddy fields and limestone mountains.
