Hanoi Family Tour
Spend the day exploring Hanoi and its more rural surroundings on a fun and educational trip for all ages.
Begin the day with a scenic jeep ride winding through the city’s Old Quarter and into the nearby countryside; see local villagers at work as your guide engages you with traditional rural activities and sights. Continue the journey by riding through the tranquil banana and vegetable farming area of the Red River. There will be lots of opportunities to stop and take photos of the beautiful surroundings and the locals working on their farms.
Next, you will head to Bat Trang ceramic village, a 1000-year-old village known as the most significant pottery village in Vietnam. Here, you’ll visit an artisan family to learn about the art of ceramics and cuisines unique to Vietnam. Heading back to the city, you’ll end the morning with a Vietnamese lunch at Pho 24; a local chain where you can slurp on Pho noodle soup, spring rolls and fresh Vietnamese salads while Mum and Dad can sip on a cold beer!
There’s free time in the afternoon before a cyclo (rickshaw) picks you up for a traditional Vietnamese water puppetry performance. This ancient art form dates back to the 11th century and involves skilful manoeuvring of lacquered wooden puppets in a pool of water, with the puppeteers standing waist-deep, hidden by a screen.
