Early-Morning Tai Chi, Hanoi
Before most of the city wakes up and the motorbikes start buzzing, many Hanoians head to the parks to practise Tai Chi.
Wake bright and early to experience a peaceful, spiritual side of Hanoi that most visitors never see, as fruit sellers set up their stalls and children make their way to school in crisp white uniforms.
If you’ve ever spotted a group of people moving slowly in sync, chances are you’ve witnessed Tai Chi. Rooted in martial arts, Tai Chi is a non-competitive practice made up of graceful, flowing movements. It emphasises deep concentration and relaxation – much like meditation – focusing on breathing and staying present in the moment.
We’ll arrange for your guide to lead you to a local park, where you can join a public Tai Chi class alongside early-rising locals. Afterwards, you’ll head back to your hotel in time for breakfast.
Prefer something more peaceful and personal? We can make special arrangements with tucked-away temples in the heart of the city.
