Water Puppets Performance
Enjoy a traditional Vietnamese water puppetry performance, an art form dating back to the 11th century.
This evening tour begins with a ‘cyclo’ ride to the theatre, where you can experience the ancient Vietnamese art form of water puppetry. Originally, this unique tradition dates back to the 11th century in the northern villages and continues to thrive as an art today.
At the theatre, the ‘stage’ is a pool of water. The hidden puppeteer stands waist-deep in the pool and skilfully maneuvers dancing puppets attached to bamboo poles across the surface.
During the performance, each short skit illustrates the daily life of the people. Additionally, a traditional Vietnamese orchestra provides live music to accompany the scenes.
After the show, we can arrange a transfer to a local restaurant for dinner. Alternatively, if you prefer to relax or explore, you may make your own arrangements for the rest of the evening.
