In beautiful Uttarakhand, Jim’s Jungle Retreat is built using mud and thatch in a traditional Gujar style on the border of Corbett National Park. A team of passionate people with qualifications in wildlife management operate the retreat, regularly collaborating with government bodies to conserve the surrounding tiger habitats. The award-winning facilities make every effort to minimise environmental impact, and the management is heavily involved in community initiatives within the Corbett region.
Most people come to Corbett for the outstanding jeep and elephant safaris and tiger spotting opportunities. You can also participate in heritage walks, go fishing or cycling, or spend a night sleeping in the jungle – an experience unique to Corbett.
There are eighteen residences in total, among them lodges, cottages, and safari tents. The jungle lodge is our personal favourite, elevated fifteen feet above the ground with gorgeous 360-degree views from cool, tiled wraparound verandas. They are spacious and elegant, furnished with opulent fabrics inspired by the Raj era. There’s also a swimming pool, Aranyam spa, nursery, dining area, lounge, and fair-trade boutique on site.
