Located on a 9km stretch of beautiful sandy beach and crystal clear water, this resort is in one of Thailand’s more ‘untouched’ locations. With a fairly minimalist, Scandinavian design, it’s a contemporary hotel which retains the characteristic Thai friendliness and sense of family. This is the perfect holiday destination for all, whether you are a family looking for fun or a couple looking for a romantic getaway, Aava Resort is an ideal place to kick back and relax.
While staying at Aava Resort, it is perfectly easy to while away the days in the spa, by the pool or on the beach immersed in a good book. However, for the adventurous, there are plenty of activities too, such as cave exploration and boat, snorkelling and kayaking trips to discover the beauty of the surrounding pristine waters. With its relaxed and calm atmosphere, it is also the perfect place to practice yoga and the resort offers various types of yoga retreats. However, perhaps the jewel in Aava Resorts crown is its proximity to the area where rare pink dolphins reside and the hotel can arrange a boat trip to visit the dolphins. The resort also has an atmospheric and good quality restaurant, for guests to enjoy Asian-European fusion food, and a Pizzeria for those wanting a more informal dining experience.
Aava Resort has 28 villas of 4 different types, all decorated in a fresh and elegant manner, they are designed to sit harmoniously within the landscape. Spacious in layout, all rooms come fully equipped with modern amenities and are European in style, with small Thai touches. We recommend the Poolside Villa, where you can enjoy views of the pool as well as the beach and ocean beyond. Aava Resort also offers great family villas with lots of space, and a hot tub, for families to enjoy that all-important ‘family time’. It’s also great value and benefits from being in season during the English Summer – July and August, as well as February through to April.
We’d say that while Aava Resort is not for those wanting a traditionally Thai hotel in design, it is a great option for those wanting a quieter, more ‘away from it all’ atmosphere, compared to some other Thai islands and resorts. Perfect for families as well as couples wanting a laidback getaway, this resort offers a European style in an idyllic Thai location.
Deluxe - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
